Whenever I make this, I think of our being at Sunset Beach with Nathan and Patricia- and the shrimp is always freshly caught Carolina shrimp. Enjoy-
Shrimp on Fire
Flour Mixture:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon sea salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1 ½ lbs. shrimp, peeled and de-veined
Sauce: ½ mayonnaise
½ cup sour cream
¼ cup catsup
1 Tbs. horseradish
paprika, salt, garlic salt (just a sprinkle of each)
Oil for frying
Coat the shrimp with flour mixture. Fry in batches for about 4 minutes a batch. Drain on paper towels and serve with dipping sauce.
